NEWS: Tindersticks announce new album and film project

TINDERSTICKS, 2015Tindersticks are back. Three years after the release of The Something Rain, the Nottingham-based quintet have just revealed details of their 10th album, The Waiting Room. Scheduled for release in January of next year, The Waiting Room features guest appearances by Jehnny Beth of Savages, a moving duet between Tindersticks’ frontman Stuart Staples and Lhasa De Sela, the Mexican-American singer-songwriter who sadly passed away on New Year’s Day 2010 at the tender age of 37.

The new album’s brass parts have been arranged by the renowned jazz fusion composer and fellow Nottinghamian, Julian Siegel, and in keeping with Tindersticks’ reputation for elegance, refinement and style the record’s sleeve comes courtesy of the celebrated French photographer Richard Dumas.

Each track on The Waiting Room is accompanied by a short film by an array of directors including Christoph Girardet, Pierre Vinour, Rosie Pedlow and Joe King, Gregorio Graziosi, Richard Dumas and French filmmaker Claire Denis with whom Tindersticks have enjoyed a long and fruitful collaboration.

The lead track from the album is ‘We are Dreamers!’ (ft Jehnny Beth) and comes with a short film by Brazilian director Gabriel Sanna:

The Waiting Room is released on the 22nd of January 2016 through City Slang and will be available as a limited edition CD/DVD, LP /DVD and very limited clear vinyl LP/DVD.
