PREVIEW: Jozef Van Wissem to release new album in March

unspecifiedJozef Van Wissem is a Dutch lutenist and post-minimalist composer whose prolific recorded output can be traced back to the beginning of this millennium. Since that time he has released 13 solo albums and the same number of collaborative recordings, the most widely recognised have been with the Japanese guitarist Tetuzi Akiyama, the American guitarist and composer Gary Lucas and Lucas’s fellow countryman the independent film director Jim Jarmusch. Van Wissem’s score to Jarmusch’s 2013 film Only Lovers Left Alive won him the Soundtrack Award at that year’s Cannes Film Festival.

It has just been announced that Jozef Van Wissem will release his new album When Shall This Bright Day Begin via the Belgium-based record label Consouling Sounds. This record will comprise of eight new compositions, two of which will be collaborations with the American experimentalist and musical iconoclast Zola Jesus.

When Shall This Bright Day Begin will be released on 18th March 2016. Here is a taste of what is to come:
