Cardiff Ska-pop five piece Junior Bill have given us the first airing of their first ever video ‘Respectable Man’, its release is a precursor to the launch of their new EP “Off Broadway” which will be available from Friday 1st of April.
Expertly put together by filmmaker Joe Marvelly (creator of Maddie Jones‘ “Could You Be My Rock N Roll?”), the video is set and shot in the band’s home town of Cardiff, and follows a day in the life of a “Respectable Man”, who is in reality anything but. Watch it below.
Played by frontman and songwriter Rob Nichols, the “Respectable Man” is a cold hearted, narrow minded product of austerity Britain who has his head stuck in a copy of the Daily Mail. Throughout the video, he loses his mind as he shrugs off homeless people and charity muggers whom he believes are harassing him, mirroring the song’s clever narrative and sound tracked by their impish sound that skanks somewhere between The Specials and The Clash.
