NEWS: Arab Strap reunite for 20th anniversary gigs

Scottish indie duo Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat – better known as Arab Strap – are reforming and heading out on a short tour in October.  Earlier this week the pair teased a potential comeback on their new website, ten years after the band originally split.

The shows mark the band’s 20th anniversary and Moffat explained the decision to reunite: “I think the day we went to the pub and split up, we made a joke about Arab Strap getting back together in 10 years’ time to celebrate.  So that’s basically what this is: a chance to enjoy the music we made once more.”  He added: “We wanted to celebrate it while we’re still relatively young and don’t look too embarrassing on the stage.”

Details of Arab Strap’s three dates are below.  Tickets are available from Ticketweb.

13th October – Electric Brixton, London
14th October – O2 Ritz, Manchester
15th October – Barrowland’s Ballroom, Glasgow

The band have also released a remix of their track ‘The First Big Weekend’ by Miaoux Miaoux, which is available to download now.  Listen below.
