NEWS: Moderat and Modeselektor among first acts announced for Roskilde 2017

When: 24th June – 1st July 2017
Where: Copenhagen, Denmark

There’s eight months until the 47th edition of Roskilde Festival in Copenhagen takes place, but the first 14 of about 175 acts have already been announced and it already includes a world-first.  Despite sharing band members, German dance acts Modeselektor and Moderat will be performing together for the very first time on the Orange Stage.  Keeping the electronic vibes burning, Danish producer Trentemøller will also be playing.

Elsewhere, there’s a slew of big names. Norwegian alt-pop singer and producer Jenny Hval brings her latest album Blood Bitch – and high concept live show – to the event, and American indie singer-songwriter Angel Olsen is set to play songs from her critically acclaimed new LP My WomanOf Mice & Men and Pig Destroyer will both bring some heavier rock to just outside Copenhagen, and former Iceage frontman Elias Rønnenfeldt plays under his new moniker Marching Church.

Anders Wahrén, Head of Programme at Roskilde, said: “The first 13 acts range from distinctive voices such as Angel Olsen and Jenny Hval to a defining act like Pig Destroyer who rarely play in Europe.  In many ways, Roskilde Festival is about discovering the music you didn’t know you were going to love, and even with more than 160 acts yet to be announced, next year’s festival is sure to offer both headliners and bands that are ready to break through to a wider audience.”

Tickets for Roskilde 2017 will go on sale on 15th November.  For more information, visit the Roskilde website.
