NEWS: FKA Twigs’ film ‘Soundtrack 7’ is available online now

Shot on location at the Manchester International Festival, FKA Twigs’ film Soundtrack 7 premiered over the weekend on BBC 4.  The concept behind the film is that it’s an abstract autobiographical piece, using footage filmed once a day during her week long residency at the festival.

The documentary features the songs ‘How’s That,’ ‘Ultraviolet’ and ‘Good to Love’ and is held together by the repeated reciting of Thomas Wyatt’s poem ‘I Find No Peace,’ which was also used on LP1.  It also features one of the major staples of Twigs’ live performances, which put an emphasis on dancing.  Here, dance is used as a very physical medium, highlighting the grit of the art.  As Twigs herself says, it’s a project of “flesh, sweat, feeling, muscle, and a live movement, no air brushing, no frills.”

You can stream the film via the BBC iPlayer, by clicking here.
