NEWS: M.I.A. reveals new track and video leading up to Meltdown Festival

In the run up to the 24th edition of Meltdown Festival, the festival curator, M.I.A., releases a new track and video that she calls a “love letter to her fans.” The song, entitled Goals, is produced by Portuguese producer and musician Branko, with whom M.I.A. collaborated on her 2016 album AIM. The new video, which features the work of artist and photographer Jaime Martinez, can be viewed below.

Meltdown Festival will launch this Friday, running from 9th -18th June at the Southbank Centre, London. This edition of the festival seeks to blend emerging and established talent from around the world to create ‘a fusion of global culture.’ Performing at the festival will be M.I.A., Soulwax, Giggs, Young Fathers, Crystal Castles, Young M.A., Father, Mykki Blanco, Yung Lean, Princess Nokia and many more.

Originally launched 25 years ago, Meltdown Festival presented a platform for its curator to bring their own vision to life. Previous curators have included; Patti Smith, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, David Byrne, Morrissey, Ray Davies and Ornette Coleman.
