NEWS: Sky Ferreira unveils new single and announces shows in London and Primavera Sound

Singer, songwriter and actor, Sky Ferreira, has just released her long awaited single, Don’t Forget. The new track offers a tantalising glimpse into her forthcoming album Masochism, which ranked in the top five of Stereogum’s most anticipated albums of 2022. Ferreira produced Don’t Forget with long term collaborator Jorg Elbrecht at Capitol’s historic Studio B in Hollywood.  Her latest single has an epic, cinematic, soundscape filled with 80s synths, bombastic percussion and triumphant vocals.

In contrast, her previous single, Downhill Lullaby, cited as the lead single on the forthcoming album, was described by Pitchfork as, “A goth- noir chamber pop piece that could have easily closed an episode of the revived Twin Peaks” and was chosen as one of their singles of the year.

Ferreira’s 2013 debut, Night Time My Time was included in numerous ‘Best Album of the Year’ lists and she has since collaborated with Primal Scream, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Beck and Charlie XCX.

Ferreira played a starring role in the film Baby Driver, American Woman and the reboot of  Twin Peaks and starred alongside Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood in The Trust.  She has appeared in Campaigns for Jimmy Choo, Redken and Maison Kitsuné  and brought her musical prowess to Baby Driver by creating a stunning cover of  The Commodores Easy.

She has been handpicked by fellow polymath and legendary icon, Grace Jones, to perform at the Meltdown Festival in London’s Southbank on 16th June alongside the likes of John Grant, Skunk Anansie, Peaches, Hot Chip, Dry Cleaning, Big Joanie, Greentea Peng and Baaba Maal.

Sky Ferreira will play at Primavera Sound Festivals in Porto and Barcelona before playing a headline show at Grace Jones’ Meltdown Festival in London on June 16th.  See her while you can.
