NEWS: Yassassin unveil video for ‘Mermaidistic Personality Disorder’

One of my tips for 2018, Yassassin have released a new video today for their superbly sinister EP track ‘Mermaidistic Personality Disorder’, like a b-movie horror soundtrack its skittish guitars, scuttling beat and bewitching vocals it makes the skin crawl: while detailing a crumbling relationship between insecure partners. Its lifted from their boldly brilliant Vitamin Y EP, out now. They are currently on a mini tour, dates below

Co-directed/edited by Anna from the band, it’s an unsettling clip full of creepty characters and a possessed TV.

’Mermaidistic Personality Disorder’ reflects upon a dysfunctional relationship between two individuals who are both falling apart in one way or another.”

“The video plays with the idea of merging different realities together and blurring the lines between what is real and not – the idea of becoming totally lovesick by someone. For the video we enlisted the help of Electra Fantasy, who performed at our EP release show with us and has become part of the song itself.”
