A campaign to get the Super Furry Animals super catchy and sweary ‘The Man Don’t Give A F*ck’ single into the charts has been launched. Download or stream here.
This comes in the wake of the Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s main advisor Dominic Cummings (no relation) reporting to have repeatedly broken COVID-19 lockdown rules over the weekend.
He has admitted to driving 260 miles to his Durham birth place with his wife and child, whilst displaying Corovna virus symptoms. It has lead many people who have been suffering in lockdown for nearly three months to feel that its one rule for those who lead us and one rule for us. Heated calls for him to resign or be sacked have come from the media, MPs and on social media.
With Boris Johnson’s tin eared backing for his machiavellian advisor yesterday, he is still somehow clinging to his job. In that context The Super Furry Animals song ‘The Man Don’t Give A F*ck’ is being supported by a number of figures as an apt song to get into the chart.

Originally released as a single on Creation records in 1996, this insanely singalong stomp is based round a sample from the Steely Dan song ‘Show Biz Kids’ – “You know they don’t give a fuck about anybody else”. The sample is repeated more than 50 times. It became a live favourite with keyboard player Cian Ciaran experimenting with the song.
A 22 minute live 12″ version recorded at London’s Hammersmith Apollo was released in 2004.
