Eurosonic, the annual music festival and conference in the Netherlands this year takes place online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Two Welsh acts – the Welsh Music Prize-winning Adwaith and boisterous glam stompers Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard – in partnership with FOCUS Wales, have recorded live sets specially for the festival, broadcasted virtually for free all over the world tonight (Friday).
2021 will see Adwaith release their second album in June, a follow up to 2018’s acclaimed ‘Melyn’, post-punk at its roots but weaving in wonderfully diverse flavours. The band have captured the hearts and minds of many outside Wales, leading to a sold out Rough Trade East show days before lockdown #1 last year, a 6 Music session, and earned fans across the world – this week they received airplay on the iconic KEXP in Seattle.
Tracks like ‘Double Denim Hop’ and ‘30,000 Megabucks‘ and a reputation for energetic performance earned Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard a well earned place in the DIY Magazine Class of 2021 list earlier this month. They are championed by NME and The Guardian and more.
Both bands play on the Eurosonic ESNS2/channel2 on Friday 15 Jan here.
