NEWS: LOUD WOMEN release feminist anthem ‘Reclaim These Streets’

LOUD WOMEN have released a defiant communal feminist anthem with their new single ‘Reclaim These Streets’, with all proceeds going to Women’s Aid.

Featuring 64 female and non-binary voices, and born out of the anger at the rise of male violence towards women, and the shocking reality that far too many still find themselves in at the hands of an abusive (usually) male partner. Written by LOUD WOMEN’s founder, Cassie Fox and a spoken word/rap section written and performed by Brix Smith. Instrumentation is provided by a female and non-binary supergroup with members of My Bloody Valentine, Salad and T-Bitch. Watch the video below.

They say: “In the wake of the recent deaths of Blessing Olusegun and Sarah Everard, we hope to turn up the volume on current discussions on the issue of women’s safety. As the song says, “Until every woman is safe to walk on every street”.”

There are 64 contributing vocalists on this track, who form a who’s who of women in our music scene – and there’s even someone who was on the original Band Aid song … here’s the full list:
