NEWS: Interpol celebrate 20 years of ‘Turn on the Bright Lights’ with digital release of ‘The Black EP’ and rare 2002 documentary

Interpol have marked the 20th anniversary of their legendary debut album, ‘Turn On The Bright Lights‘ with the release of fan rarity, The Black EP,’ for the first time on digital platforms.

The Black EP’ was originally released in 2003 as a limited-edition CD and has since been out of print. It features the studio version of ‘Say Hello To The Angels,’ a demo of ‘NYC’ and four rare musical treasures, recorded live in session for Radio France in 2002, including bonus track ‘Specialist.‘ Listen  HERE .  

Accompanying the release, is a 2002 short documentary on the band made by a French subsidiary of EMI. ‘After being lost in the annals of 144pp YouTube rips, the thirteen minute clip is brought to glorious hi-res restoration.’ The documentary features interviews with the band as well as snippets of performances of ‘PDA’, ‘NYC’, ‘Untitled’ and ‘Stella Was a Diver and She Was Always Down.’ Watch here:

Last month, Interpol released their seventh masterful album, The Other Side Of Make-Believe.
