Local Natives have released their new single ‘Just Before The Morning’. It has a vibe which complements the changing of the seasons, full of psychedelia along with a deep bass groove. Recorded across Valentine Recording Studio, 64Sound and Sargent Recorders, a strong sense of Los Angeles pervades the track. ‘Just Before The Morning’ sees Local Natives revel in getting back into the studio together and provides a slightly different sonic sound, perhaps inevitable after the challenges of the global pandemic.
The band says of the song:
“‘Just Before The Morning’ came from a burst of creativity after we finally reconnected in the studio. The song explores the cyclical nature of life and the many ways in which we begin again.”
‘Just Before The Morning’ follows the recent release of double A-side singles ‘Desert Snow‘ and ‘Hourglass’ , and a sold-out North American tour that included stops at Osheaga, Lollapalooza, Outsidelands, Ogden Twilight and Outlandia festivals this summer.
Based in Los Angeles, the group have progressed their sound over the course of four full-length albums, Gorilla Manor (2009), Hummingbird (2013), Sunlit Youth (2016) and Violet Street (2019).
