The American artist and songwriter Angelo De Augustine has shared two new songs, ’27’ and ‘Hologram’, a double single which is available now via Asthmatic Kitty Records. A limited edition of 200 cassettes is also available exclusively at the official Asthmatic Kitty store.
The new double single is Angelo De Augustine’s first new music since 2021’s acclaimed collaborative LP with Sufjan Stevens, A Beginner’s Mind, and his first solo work since 2020’s dual tracks ‘Santa Barbara’ and ‘Blue’.
The new songs find Angelo De Augustine – who lives in Thousand Oaks, California, a suburb north of Los Angeles – “exploring Greek and Roman history, monsters and ghouls, evil, death, faith, love, destruction, and opposing deities.”
‘27’ began life whilst Angelo De Augustine was working on A Beginner’s Mind and features instrumental assistance from Sufjan Stevens.
