NEWS: Songwriters Circle Tour featuring Annie Dressner, Lucy Grubb, Dan Wilde & Luke James Williams hits the road

Bound by a shared love of classic song writing, four acclaimed singer songwriter; Annie Dressner, Lucy Grubb, Dan Wilde & Luke James Williams are hitting the road to perform as part of their Songwriters’ Circle tour. They will be touring from the18th to the 23rd March and are heading to Trowbridge, Stroud, Cambridge, Maidenhead, Manchester and Birmingham. Promising to be a special night of live music this will be a rare opportunity to see four shining lights of the UK acoustic scene performing together in some of the country’s finest grassroots music venues.

They will present an evening of songs, performed both individually and in collaboration. Between them they have amassed appearances at some of the UK’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk, Green Man and Black Deer and garnered rave reviews and airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music.

Originally from New York and now living in the UK , Annie Dressner was shortlisted for Female Artist of the Year 2020 by Fatea Magazine and was described by American Songwriter as being “able to paint visceral images and transport the listener to the world of the song,” Her lyrical style, sharp ear for wordplay and crisp, lilting vocals offer listeners a front row seat to her stories. Her music has drawn comparisons to an up-tempo Mazzy Star, an understated Jenny Lewis, Soccer Mommy & Phoebe Bridgers.

Fellow song writer Lucy Grubb“ can write and sing a Hill Country Song worthy of Allison Krauss or even Emmylou Harris, according to Rocking Magpie. Clare Balding on BBC Radio 2 said that Dan Wilde’s Music was ” Simply Beautiful,” with his own brand of richly observant folk. Luke James Williams was mentioned by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music. He said Luke’s“song writing and the vocal delivery are just so raw, heartfelt and beautiful that I find it irresistible.” with his rare talent and ability to rivet your attention.
