NEWS: Deer Shed Wins Festival Of The Year

The prestigious LIVE Awards ceremony was held this year on the 12th of December at The Troxy in London. The LIVE Awards recognise the leading companies and individuals in the £4.5bn UK live music business. LIVE is a relatively new industry umbrella group of many live music industry associations. It was borne out of the pandemic in order to fight the corner of the live music industry, primarily with the UK government.

There were a total of 15 award categories at this year’s ceremony, including that of Festival of the Year. Eight festivals had been nominated in this category including Christine and the Queens’ Meltdown, Connect Music Festival, and Kendal Calling, but the winner was Deer Shed Festival, the independent, family-run, family-friendly festival of music, comedy, arts, science, theatre, and sport for all ages that has been held annually at Baldersby Park in the village of Topcliffe in North Yorkshire, England since 2010.

Many congratulations to Deer Shed Festival in winning this award. It is great recognition for what has been a consistently well-run independent, innovative, and inclusive event.
