NEWS: Chumbawamba Get Up Again for new Documentary!

A new documentary written and directed by emmy-winner Sophie Robinson and Dunstan Bruce, ‘I Get Knocked Down’, is set for release in 2024 and will be available to stream on Amazon, Apple and Google from January 15th.

The film, already receiving strong critical reviews at Sheffield Documentary Festival, SWSX, The Rotterdam film festival and Leeds International Film Festival, documents Dunstan Bruce, the ex-frontman of Chumbawamba on a mission to find his mojo, get back up again, and fight a good fight. The film has been described as part music documentary and part character study.

Dunstan Bruce said, “We never set out to make a straight-forward music documentary. We wanted to do something different with the film that didn’t just appeal to Chumbawamba fans, but that would also resonate with anyone who has faced adversity and has to fight to get back up again.”

The untold story of Chumbawamba is a deeply human story with Dunstan Bruce at front and centre, the documentary is surreal and funny, as Bruce documents his coming to terms with a world that seems to be slowly cracking at the seams. Angry and frustrated, now twenty years on, the rebellious anarchist asks the questions, on a mission to get back up and pick-up that baton for change.

The big question is how does he get back up again? In this punk portrayal of ‘A Christmas Carol,’ Dunstan Bruce meets the ghost of his anarchist past, and his alter ego in the form of ‘Babyhead’ forces him to question his life, sending him on a search for his long-lost rebellious spirit.

I Get Knocked Down,’ is set for release on streaming platforms Amazon, Google and Apple from January 15, 2024.
