Let the good times roll! A fortnight today Euston Hall will open its gates for another three days and nights of the very best in blues, soul, and roots music that’s around today. Yes, Red Rooster Festival will be back and in further cause for celebration, this brilliant event held annually in the beautiful Suffolk countryside will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.

And as would befit such a fantastic occasion, Red Rooster has a very special programme of music in store for us all. Topping the bill will be the legendary American swing band Asleep At The Wheel who will be playing their last ever UK festival show here as part of their Happy Trails tour. They will be joined for this very great occasion by Red Rooster favourites Brennen Leigh and Joshua Hedley

Also headlining this year’s event and making their first-ever festival appearance will be Galen & Paul, the critically acclaimed collaboration of the celebrated solo artist and multi-instrumentalist Galen Ayers and Paul Simonon, legendary bassist of The Clash, The Good the Bad & the Queen (with Damon Albarn).

The star-studded bill will also feature the highly revered American blues and soul singer-songwriter and guitarist, Robert Finley and Take Me To The River will be live on stage to present a musical extravaganza of New Orleans and Memphis Music, featuring Stax Records’ legend William Bell, the original members of The High Rhythm Section, who played on every Al Green record as well as alongside Ann Peebles, Otis Clay, and Syl Johnson. Joining them will be the North Mississippi Allstars’ Luther Dickinson and Cody Dickinson, Big Chief Bo Dollis, Martin Shore and Boo Mitchell, son of Willie Mitchell, the father of the Memphis Sound.

And if the music wasn’t enough, Red Rooster is known for its high-calibre food offerings and 2024 will be no different. New for the 10th anniversary, Red Rooster has teamed up with award-winning BBQ specialists Meat Street BBQ, to offer a sit-down banquet on each day of the festival. Themed to match the style of BBQ offering, you’ll be able to go traditional American BBQ on the Thursday with the “Smokestack Lighting” Banquet, an Asian BBQ on the Friday with the “How The East Was Won” Banquet. All this and much more fun for all the family, including River Swimming, swan pedolo hire, the return of Discovery Channel and TV Prehistoric Survivalist, Will Lord to Red Rooster with his team to offer another fascinating array of displays of Ancient Carvings, Flint Knapping, Wild Butchery Cooking of Venison, Natural Cordage and Tanning Techniques.

The “Back to Wilderness” team will be providing a selection of short workshops to choose from. Learn how to give life to fire, carve a spoon, make a small basket, see a variety of survival traps from around the world and you can also learn the art of axe and knife throwing. 

The Howlin’ Woods stage, before it gets really jumping for some late-night boogie sessions, will host kids’ movies on Friday and Saturday mornings from 11am, Doc n’ Roll documentaries from 1pm, and then dance lessons for the next four hours from Hank JD Sleek and dance troupe Shag Pile.

Red Rooster has consistently sold out for the past five years, and tickets have been flying off the shelves at a record pace for its 10th anniversary in 2024. It is one of the best-value festival experiences with weekend tickets available for just £149.50 + booking fee for the entire weekend with three nights of camping and complimentary parking. As always, children aged 12 and under go free and discounted teen tickets are available also.
