Scoundrels announce new single ‘Loud n Proud’

Scoundrels

London band Scoundrels, release ‘Loud n Proud’ on Monday 10th October 2011. This is the second single to be taken from their self-titled debut album which was released on the recently revived Blue Horizon label.

‘Loud n Proud’ was the song that caught the attention of producer, CC Adcock. So much so that he flew to London to get a feel for the band and work on the track before they headed to the States to record the rest of the album.

Lead singer Ned Wyndham remembers it well:
“CC pushed the preamps so hard whilst recording that they set on fire, but it was that lo-fi, garage rock sound that he wanted to capture which I think he did brilliantly. Vocals were laid down at Studio In The Country, Bogalusa, Louisiana and the song came together really nicely.

“The track is really an anti-scenester song, anti-elitism, anti-conformity in any way, anti- posers and all about enjoying music and not caring if it’s in vogue or not. Whether it’s Chris de Burgh, Kenny G or Timmy Mallet, as long as it strikes a chord with you then that’s cool.”

The video for Loud n Proud is a paired down version of a documentary film of their time in the States entitled ‘Go Sell Your Soul’ filmed by Wyatt Garfield in association with Pulse Films (‘No Distance Left To Run’, Blur: Live at Hyde Park).

After a summer of festivals and a sell-out residency at Ronnie Scott’s the band are heading to America in October for their first US dates on the East Coast.
