VIDEO: the patriotic sunday – A set of seemingly disconnected words

patrioticsundayactualEffervescence have just released the third album by the patriotic sunday, entitled ‘Actual Fiction’. You can listen to the entire thing on Bandcamp below. Watch the rather smart animated video for the lead single ‘A set of seemingly disconnected words’ below, it skillfully blends lost and found clip-clop rhythms with slinky almost Sufjan Stevens-esque lilting melodies.

After his first album ‘Lay Your Soul Bare’ (2005) following the paths of some folk ancesters – from Nick Drake to Leonard Cohen -, his second ‘Characters’ which was revealing a genius of pop melodies, this third album by the patriotic sunday aka Eric Pasquereau (also leader of the French acclaimed harcore trio Papier Tigre), arranged by the musicians of La Terre Tremble !!!, is a fine electric mix of musical genres, from pop to soul, R&B and rock energies, accompanied by peaceful chorus and striking lyrics
