Slow Down, Molasses to return to the UK for extended tour

Canadian multi instrumental dream pop outfit Slow Down, Molasses return to the U.K. for an extended tour this summer anchored by appearances at The Great Escape Festival. and Liverpool SoundCity.

Slow Down, Molasses are a sprawling indie rock collective from Saskatoon, SK right in the heart of the Canadian prairies. The band brings together a cast of 6 (and sometimes more…) members to create their own unique wall-of-sound. Songs that began as sparse, dust-covered arrangements have developed into full-fledged, lush indie-folk anthems filled with strings, horns and layers of feedback drenched guitars and sweet vocal harmonies.

The band’s second album, ‘Walk Into The Sea’ (the first being ‘I’m An Old Believer’), features guest appearances by “Canada’s indie queen” Julie Doiron and Ontario’s Olenka & The Autumn Lovers, as well as a host of talented prairie musicians. It was mixed by Ohbijou’s James Bunton (Last Gang Recordings) and tracks were also given added treatment by various artists for an accompanying remix release, the ‘Bodies Of Water Remixes’. Since the release of ‘Walk Into The Sea’, Slow Down, Molasses has toured across Canada, from Halifax to Vancouver. They have been met with great critical acclaim and Summer 2011 also saw them play major festivals across Canada including North by North East, Sled Island, and the Regina Folk Festival, before heading across the ocean to play England’s End of the Road alongside indie heavyweights Mogwai, Okkervil River and Joanna Newsom.
