Meet Violens. They’re a New York trio of new wave skinnies who like to mix things up a tad. Essentially it’s shoegaze meets dream pop but with a sinister undertone to proceedings. Loved their debut album ‘Amoral’ from 2010, which they followed last year with a mini album ‘Nine Songs’, which was a let down, as it was as imaginative as the title. All is now put to rights, however, as out this week is the next real album, ‘True’. It doesn’t quite get back to the heights of the debut, but is a highly enjoyable excursion all the same.
