Calling all R.E.M. fans, of which I am firmly one. Whilst they have a steady flow of top notch releases themselves, you might just want something to fill the current gap – I present Driftless Pony Club. They’re from Chicago and have just released their fourth album ‘Magicifent’ (their spelling mistake, not mine). It’s Americana tinged indie rock that sounds so much like Stipe & Co that no further comparisons are necessary. I’m off to check out their back catalogue whilst you grab an earful of the attached, then do likewise.
