Don’t be put off by the zany name. Does it help to know that Woodpecker Wooliams is sometimes called Gemma Williams? Probably not. In fact the whole plot is cracked, the sparrow being only the most vicious in a whole line-up of birds putting themselves forward for ‘The Bird School Of Being Human’, also the title of Woodpecker Wooliams’ upcoming new album, due next month. I’m not too bothered about the back story for now; there is glorious buzz before Gemma’s voice half scares the wits out of you. All I know is that it’s pretty damn addictive and please, I need to hear about the rest of the little birdies – now!
