I reckon you’re either a Neil Young fan or you’re not. I am. It’s the man’s 67th birthday this week and, despite his ripe old age, he has continued to release credible music on a consistent basis, with eleven studio albums already under his belt this century and three of them in the last fifteen months. The latest of that lot is ‘Psychedelic Pill’ where he’s back with those Crazy Horse boys. It’s a double album, just short of 90 minutes, although with only nine tracks, the longest being over 27 minutes. Those who didn’t count themselves as fans have already stopped reading! The rest of you may be pleased to hear that the album is a good one; back to roots to a certain extent and some excellent guitar work from a man who gets far too little credit for his abilities on said instrument. Listen and indulge yourself.
