Track Of The Day #253: The Ocean Blue – Sad Night, Where Is Morning

Does anybody remember The Ocean Blue? Twenty years ago they were a half decent indie/jangle band, with more than a little inheritance from The Smiths, like many other British bands back then. The difference was that this lot were American. Well they still are American and have reformed to release a new album, ‘Utramarine’ and it happens to be an extremely good one, far better than I recall them being before – some fantastic song writing, beautifully executed. There’s still a strong Smiths prominence, along with New Order, but that’s a good thing surely!
