Seattle quartet Chastity Belt make the kind of laid back melodic indie pop that makes you glad that at school you said you liked ‘bands’ to impress that girl in registration. If you hadn’t said that, your life would be full of autotuned vocals, compressed beats and music produced within an inch of its life.
There’s nothing wrong with that at all, but this is better. Miles better! As ‘Joke’ progresses you realise that it’s getting more and more intense and frantic until its frayed but rapturous ending! Hardly Art Records have got a serious bunch of melodic noise makers on their hands.
