NEWS: FOCUS Wales announces BBC Horizons acts and more industry panel names

Dates: 12th – 14th May 2016
Location: Wrexham, North Wales

BBC Wales have just announced the twelve new music acts they will champion over the next twelve months through their Horizons project. The twelve acts – Afro Cluster, Anelog, Casey, Castles, Connah Evans, Danielle Lewis, Fleur De Lys, Reuel Elijah, Roughion, Tibet, We’re No Heroes and Ysgol Sul – will kick off their rollercoaster year with performances at FOCUS Wales Festival 2016. Horizons project manager Bethan Elfyn commented: “FOCUS is a great place for us to come and start our festival season.”

In addition to this and other performance opportunities for new Welsh music makers at the festival, FOCUS Wales also offers career development support in the shape of its interactive music industry seminars, open to all performers and wristband holders. Just announced for the interactive sessions – alongside this year’s keynote speakers Peter Hook (ex New Order / Joy Division) and Viv Albertine (The Slits) – are Kate Doyle (Ground Control / Festival No. 6), John Rostron (Swn Festival), Paul Craig (manager Biffy Clyro/Birdy) and a raft of industry experts.
Interactive coordinator Neal Thompson said: “We’re delighted to welcome such a high profile delegation this year, not only to come and speak at the event, but to get out and watch the acts too.”

Festival wristbands are available now for just £30 for 14-17 yr olds, £40 for standard and £60 for priority (which allow queue jump) at FOCUS Wales website.
