NEWS: Vanishing Twin share new track ‘Vanishing Twin Syndrome’

Formed in 2015 by Cathy Lucas, of Innerspace Orchestra and Fanfarlo, Vanishing Twin (formerly known as Orlando) quickly set about making quintessentially English pop featuring arkestral sounds after getting together.  Having announced that their debut record Choose Your Own Adventure would be released on 16th September via Soundway Records, and sharing the first single ‘The Conservation of Life,’ the group have now unveiled a new song from the record.

Vanishing Twin Syndrome’ directly references the phenomena that inspired the project, whereby Lucas’ twin disappeared in utero while the pair were just a cluster of cells.  The track mixes languid, contemplative vocals with an exotic form of psychedelia, heavy on percussion.  It’s a perfect introduction to the way in which the band move outside of usual pop conventions, sticking to the classic three and a half minute length but cramming a wealth of ideas into that short space.  Listen below.
