Foxgluvv returned on the 26th March by releasing her dreamy disco-pop single ‘1:00AM‘ it marks a new shift for the self-proclaimed ‘dyke-pop-princess’.
Inspired by restless late nights and intrusive thoughts, the song captures her personal struggles in a catchy, ’70s influenced floor-filling pop track with nods to everything from Chic to Dua Lipa, the spoken word asides give it an extra pop and the chorus has an addictive earworm quality, it’s sure to keep you up all night.
The artist’s new single is accompanied by a glittering video full of nods to disco, contemporary pop and features lots of fierce performing! Watch it below.
She says: “1:00AM is for when you’ve had a bad day, your head hits the pillow and your mind just doesn’t switch off. If you’ve been struggling to sleep, if your thoughts are keeping you awake, 1:00AM narrates that frustration and covers it in a disco-pop blanket. Writing this song came out of pure frustration, I’d been struggling with my sleeping patterns and work, and all I wanted to do was ‘cry and fall asleep at one point. I hope this song makes people want to dance out the anxieties that are keeping them awake. Stream 1:00AM for a good night’s sleep!”
