NEWS: Melody’s Echo Chamber shares long lost single ‘Norfolk Hotel’ and announces tour and album reissue

French dream pop artist, Melody Prochet of Melody’s Echo Chamber has just released the spellbinding ‘Norfolk Hotel‘ taken from Unfold. Featuring seven rare and unreleased tracks, it will be released this Friday alongside the tenth anniversary edition of Melody’s Echo Chamber, her eponymously-titled debut album.

In 2012 Prochet collaborated with Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker to produce her psychedelic debut album as Melody’s Echo Chamber. The material was recorded in Parker’s makeshift studio in Perth, Australia and Prochet’s grandmother’s seaside home in the south of France. Melody’s Echo Chamber is a hypnotic and sometimes hypnagogic adventure of the senses, full of summery, shimmery songs that still sound as dreamy and vivid as they did a decade ago. No wonder it became a cornerstone of the new wave of psychedelia on its release in 2012.

Latest track, “Norfolk Hotel” is driven by spidery drum rolls and features a magnificent psych jazz chorus. Watch here:

Prochet says,

“I think this song soundtracks the metamorphosis experience, those spellbound waves and rhythm shifts. I guess the finale’s crumble kind of predicted the future ruin field. The music naturally recorded as a live duo, as I was just blossoming into my own intuitive guitar playing. A very joyful and endlessly inspiring playground of musical memories.”

Alongside the release, Melody’s Echo Chamber is also pleased to announce a handful of intimate shows for Spring 2023 which will include a show at London’s Scala on 15th March. This will be the first time Melody has played live in London since March 2013. Tickets go on sale at 10.00 AM local time on Thursday 29th September from here.
