NEWS: viA fantastica debuts video for ‘Trouble in Paradise’

Cardiff artist viA fantastica has shared the video for new single ‘Trouble in Paradise’ an inventive cut up track that takes you on a trip to sunnier climbs interspersed with samples of Spanish guitar, droid vocals, reggae refrains, brass, and skittering beats. Laced with affectionate nods to Bob Marley, The Streets and sound system culture this a bricolage of sound that will get your body popping. Watch the accompanying playful and colourful video below. The track will be available on Bandcamp and streaming services from 11.11.22

They say “As ‘jam for the rich man’ economics crashes against the rocks of reality, it feels like the right time to channel William Cobbett via Bob Marley in an intricate ballet of the belly full and we hungry. Inspired by a crisis living diet of GQOM, scratchy old Streets CDs and Bob Dylan’s rhyming dictionary, I defy you NOT to agitate your limbs to this bass-heavy banger. Ice, slice, nice, paradise.”

viA fAntAsticA is J.T. and Gaia de Voxx on a DIY synth pop journey. J.T. is Cardiff’s Justin Toland, erstwhile purveyor of loops and found sound on Recordiau Peski and self-released cassettes under the name Location Baked. Gaia de Voxx is his droid vocalist.
