NEWS: Nerves release new single ‘Empty’ and announce debut EP Glórach.

It been two years since the last release by Irish band Nerves. Taking the time to refine their sound, they return with new single ‘Empty‘. It’s the lead from their debut EP Glórach set for release on 15 March alongside a vinyl release in collaboration with Galway’s Blowtorch Records. Recorded and co-produced by Gilla Bands Daniel Fox, Glórach promises to capture much of the sonic devastation that the band are capable of producing live, as well as contrasting fragile moments of quiet discomfort.

New single ‘Empty‘ is a brutalist slab of heavily effected droning guitar and bass, corrosive blasts of feedback and gut-wrenching vocals centred around the persistence of grief over time. The single creates a sensory overload with it’s industrial soundscape and tormented vocals. The lyrics deal with loss and mental health in the rural west of Ireland, and theme is perfectly complemented by the shifting, twitching instrumentation.

Nerves recently made their UK debut with a loud, sweaty and cathartic show in the Windmill Brixton and have supported the best in Irish and UK modern punk including Sprints, deadletter, Gurriers, Vlure and hmltd.  With the promise of shows in early 2024 in Europe and an Irish/UK tour alongside the EP release, Nerves are making a huge statement of intent for the year to come.
