Mammoth Penguins‘ debut album Hide and Seek is due out on Fortuna POP! on 10 July. Mammoth Penguins are fronted by Emma Kupa (previously of Standard Fare), we have the premiere of the first teaser track “When I Was Your Age” which they claim is probably the ‘most messy and loud track from the album’. A clattering fuzz pop song that bounces between mournful and wistful outburst: it’s about feeling inadequate about one’s achievements. As Emma explains, “It started off with a birthday card from my granddad saying that he was married with kids at 28 and then I started thinking about what my parents, grandparents and family members had achieved by the time they were my age”.
