Track Of The Day #979: KOBA – Rush

KOBA are a four-piece from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and with ‘Rush’ they’ve created a smooth and cool electro-pop track that has a touch of darkness about it, all creating something exciting as well as brilliant.  Lyrically, it’s about being in a relationship with someone from a different social circle, while being aware of the conflicts and the excitement associated with that.  Musically, it’s alluring, addictive, and really shows off that smooth and cool quality.

‘Rush’ makes the perfect soundtrack to a night out at a club, a night in with a cup of tea, or even first thing in the morning – it’s invigorating enough to wake you up, as well as chill you out.  I’d wager there aren’t many tracks that can do both at once!  If you really want to show Monday who’s boss, turn this one up as loud as possible, and pretend you’re hitting it hard in a club.

‘Rush’ is released 10th February via INSTRMNT Records.  Check out more from KOBA on their Facebook page.
