If three parts rock, two parts blues, and one part country were the ingredients for a band, Little Foot Long Foot would undoubtedly be the fruitful reaction of that musical recipe. The Toronto band released their new LP Oh, Hell on June 28 and it has been burning up the ears of critics and fans with an explosive 10-track rock gospel, showered with a frenzy of chromatic riffs, authoritative drums, and sultry vocals, wails, and howls. They encapsulate a new style of blues-rock, carried out beautifully and ruggedly by the sweet Joan Smith (vocals, guitar), Isaac Klein (drums), and their newest addition Caitlin Dacey (organ, vocals). Produced by Ian Blurton (C’mon, Change Of Heart), Oh, Hell highlights Blurton’s signature touch – a recording that is in full-force. The lead single “Sell Out While You Can,” features a powerful down-beat fortified by the fragmentation of raunchy southern-rock infused licks, allowing Smith’s voice to erupt with its incomparable tone. The accompanying video showcases the bands tongue-in-cheek humour that is reminiscent of the Beastie Boys. Little Foot Long Foot will be touring throughout Ontario in July with national dates to come in August, September and beyond.
