Lilies on Mars - Oceanic Landscape ft. Franco Battiato

Lilies on Mars – Oceanic Landscape ft. Franco Battiato

So, they were right, there really were Lilies on Mars. OK, maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but that robot thing found evidence of water; ergo there might have been flowers…  And if there were…

All of which seems a bit far away, as do the band themselves Lilies On Mars, aka Lisa Masia and Marina Cristofalo, who’ve decamped to Lisa’s beach house on Sardinia. Let’s face it, if I had a beach house anywhere, so might I.

After a very busy year performing in the London and UK underground scene they debuted at SXSW in 2012. I saw them there and was fair and square smitten with their sound. The girls have now finished working on their third record titled “DOT TO DOT” which will see a UK release later in the year

“Oceanic Landscape”, the sixth track on the album features Italian icon singer-experimentalist Franco Battiato with whom they will also be on tour in Europe. This is in some ways a welcome return, as Lilies started their musical adventures as part of a project with Franco before striking out on their own

Their PR says “Delivering the perfect blend of pop and experimentation is a trademark of both artists and gives a generous introduction to the future full-length offering” and for once, we’d totally agree
