Ready to once more kick-off the new festival season in the UK and if the first acts to be announced are anything to go by, the eighth annual Live at Leeds is going to be even bigger and better than ever before. Scheduled to run from the 2nd to the 5th of May, the unveiling of names such as The Strokes’ guitarist Albert Hammond Jr, BBC Sound Of 2014 finalists Chloe Howl and Ella Eyre, MTV Brand New for 2014 hopefuls Royal Blood, and those much revered Yorkshire heroes iLiKETRAiNS reinforces the fact that Live at Leeds has got a proven track record for promoting emerging local talent alongside established international acts as well as having an uncanny eye for booking bands who may be about to break on through to the other side of stardom.
Amongst those also in the first wave of headline acts to be revealed for Saturday’s centrepiece are Wolf Alice and Drenge (both pictured below at last year’s highly successful Beacons Festival), Fuck Buttons, King Charles, Pulled Apart By Horses and Yuck. A very strong undercard already includes Denai Moore, Eliza and the Bear, Marika Hackman and The Wytches.
Separate ticketed events have pulled in the might of Blood Red Shoes, Kodaline and Neurosis.
Once the full list is complete expect more than 150 acts to be performing on some 20 stages dotted across the city over the first Bank Holiday weekend in May. Full details of the event can be found here:
Priced at a ridiculously cheap £25 for Saturday the 3rd of May’s wristbanded event, it is an absolute steal. Full ticketing information is here:
