Track Of The Day #570: Ted Zed – Believe

Hailing from Somerset via Saturn, and otherwise known as Edward Griggs, 19 year old multi instrumentalist Ted Zed returns this September with a new EP entitled ‘BELIEVE’.

The Title track is a big bold, swirling psych-pop song with propulsive beat, throbbing baseline, bleeping synths and kaleidoscopic guitars, it’s all warmly redolent of early MGMT. While Griggs’s mantra like verses have the hip air of Marc Bolan before giving way to a chest beating, soaring chorus that elevates pleasingly on a wave of emotion of the kind Primal Scream‘s Bobby Gillespie often conjured around the Screamadelica period. It’s a heady concoction and a sure fire hit!

Ted Zed suggests Believe is “about escaping into the wilderness and living off the land…It’s got a very positive message.”
