Track Of The Day #826: The Convergers – San Antone

Fun music made for simple fun’s sake is rare these days.  For good reasons, perhaps, things can be a little too serious sometimes.  But if you want some fun to shake up the mid-week, look no further than the country/Americana plod of ‘San Antone’ by New Orleans alternative Americana band The Convergers.  Sounding more like a Country version of The Presidents of the United States of America (or PUSA as they’re commonly known – and no wonder!) than Johnny Cash et al.

‘San Antone’ is plodding and easy, bringing together all that’s awesome about Country music with a little dash of indie, rock and folk, sounding equally retro and contemporary all at once.  You may just find yourself dancing around your house/office/wherever before you know it.  Go on, we won’t judge you!

‘San Antone’ is taken from the band’s Hang-Dog Hymns EP, released 26th March, and is available for purchase HERE
