Video Of The Week #54: Beauty Sleep – Until We See The Sun (Premiere)

Beauty Sleep evoke feelings of night time escape with the beguiling synth pop of “Until We See The Sun” a song about secrets; leading a double life and the idea that at night the darkness gives a sense of freedom to be oneself. It explores a secret relationship that finds it’s own illicit existence at night. The song reflects on the thrill of nocturnal rendezvous in clubs and bars, hiding in plain site, knowing that in the morning they have to appear nothing had happened. We have the premiere for the accompanying video directed by Megan Doherty, here’s what the band say about it:

Earlier this year we decided to begin a long term collaboration with one of our favourite artists Megan Doherty. Megan was able to interpret the experiences that had inspired the song and bring it all to life to life in a fuzzy, beautiful way.”

Musicians, producers and artists Cheylene Murphy, Ryan McGroarty and Aimee Williamson joined forces to form Beauty Sleep after a house party bonding session spelling out rude words on a fridge-magnet-crossword.

Beauty Sleep launched in early 2016, touring their live set around Ireland playing shows and festivals such as Electric Picnic, The Great Escape, Castlepalooza, Stendhal Festival and Other Voices, and headlining venues such as Whelan’s in Dublin, Bar Sub and Black Box in Belfast.

They promise their forthcoming EP, Nature Will Eat Me is their most eclectic mix yet.
