South-West London producer, Lucagotbbm is next up on Steel City Dance Discs new sub-label “+NRG” with his new single ‘BALANCE’. The new single stands as the second release from his forthcoming EP. Using his D.I.Y attitude to create a world of his own, Lucagotbbm stands out amongst a crowd of alternative-dance music. His music acts as an ever-evolving attempt to capture moments of introspection and observation, with genre-bending elements of dance and anti-pop providing a consistently unique sound.
The South-West Londoner fuses his ability to create ambient breakbeats and UK underground elements to provide a fresh combination of dance and vocals. Though his sound could be described as King Krule meets Jungle, it captures an energy of escapism that’s unique to his sound. ‘BALANCE’ uses jungle rhythms that blend with elements of hyperpop, creating a seemingly hypnotic sound. Taking influence from dreamcast aestheticism, the song paints an inability to navigate emotions within a liminal and transitional space. It combines personal introspection with a jumpy beat and catchy hook.
