NEWS: Sound City opens artist applications for South Korean festivals Zandari and MU:CON

When: October 2016
Where: South Korea

South Korea has been rapidly developing as a thriving territory for new music, and Zandari and MU:Con are two of the country’s biggest festivals, forming the gateway to their rapidly developing market.  Liverpool’s Sound City are now allowing bands and artists to apply to showcase their talents at both of the events in an opportunity that’s not to be missed.

Zandari Festival and its conference takes place from 30th September until 3rd October in Seoul’s Hongdae area.  It focuses particularly on the live and independent sectors. It was almost 200 emerging artists performing in 22 venues to almost 15000 fans.  Meanwhile, MU:CON is taking place between 6th-8th October, also based within the capital.  With more of a focus on publishing and sync licensing, it showcases around 150 artists to nearly 3000 industry delegates at the conference.

Bands and artists, as well as one of their team, are able to apply to showcase their music at either festival through the Sound City+ website.  There is funding support available, but artists should be based in England and include details about their current UK and international activity, as well as links to their music.

The deadline for applications is 6pm on Monday 1st August.

Those interested in applying to the scheme should head to the Liverpool Sound City+ website.
