2:54 Premiere new track – ‘Got A Hold’

2 54

“A deep, narcotic pool of noise…a dream-like intensity” – The Fly
“Stinging, spite-laden guitar and mesmerizingly chilly tones that recall Slint if they’d been signed to Creation” – NME
“A bleak English charm…there’s something of the suspense film about the music of 2:54” – Guardian Guide

With their debut release for Fiction, the 4-track “Scarlet” EP just a week away and their biggest headline show to date this week, Colette and Hannah Thurlow, otherwise known as 2:54, showcase another teaser track, the driving psychodrama of B-side, ‘Got A Hold‘.

While the EP’s single “Scarlet”, debuted last month to thunderous acclaim, “Got A Hold” displays a more soaring side of the band, with guitars circling around Colette’s fallen angel vocals to disorienting effect, the whole thing building and building until a cliffhanger drop for a few thrilling seconds at its climax. It’s one of the most tense and thrilling 4 minutes you’re likely to experience in a pop song this year.

After a show-stopping stint out on the road with the Maccabees, and headline regional warm-ups, their homecoming headliner sees them joined by a coupling of cherry-picked buzz support bands in London’s lo-fi belles Novella and Bournemouth’s catchy pop punks Bos Angeles.
