When: 29th October 2016
Where: Hackney, London
This year’s MIRRORS Festival, dedicated to supporting forward-thinking music, is returning to striking East London churches and venues in Hackney this October. With her new, spine-tingling album The Bride, Bat For Lashes definitely fits the bill as a headliner, with the festival’s churches providing the perfect setting for her high-concept songs about love, marriage and grief.
She’s just one of a wealth of acts just announced for this year’s event. Providing a touch of Californian psych to London, Allah-Las are bringing tunes from their upcoming new album Cal Review to the event. At the noisier end of the spectrum, expect some mass carnage when Canadian punks F*cked Up play their 2006 debut LP Hidden World in full. Former member of The Coral Bill Ryder-Jones is also set to delight the crowds with songs from his acclaimed record West Kirby County Primary.
There’s also a slew of new bands set to perform. US garage-punks Diarrhea Planet have been secured for their very first UK show, while fellow Americans Cherry Glazerr will play tune from their off-kilter debut record Haxel Princess. Dreamy indie group Swimming Tapes, singer-songwriter Liv Dawson and emotive rockers Babeheaven, and Leeds-based Caro are also on the bill.
More acts are to be announced in the near future. Tickets are on sale from Friday 8th July.
