Oklahoma is known for its thriving Americana music scene, and Stillwater band Other Lives prove no exception to the rule. Their debut self-title album was released in 2009 and saw relative success in the states, with commendation from Thom Yorke, The Decemberists and The National.

Other Lives sound recalls the rambling highway of The Jayhawks and the social and civil unrest of Arcade Fire, bound up in a ferocious energy that out shines your common folk act. The band maximise their output with a range of instruments, including the harpsichord, Mellotron, French horn and violin.

Their second album Tamer Animals is due for release on Play It Again Sam Records this August. Lead single “For 21” is available to stream below.
