NEWS: Rumer is playing her first show in two years in October

Singer Rumer recently announced that she was releasing a brand new album on 21st October via East West/ Warner Music.  The collection is called This Girl’s In Love: A Bacharach and David Songbook, and will contain a variety of cover versions of Bacharach & David classic recorded at the iconic Capitol Studios.  The LP saw the singer collaborating with composer and arranger Rob Shirabari, who has worked as musical director for Burt Bacharach and Dionne Warwick for three decades.

Following on the heels of that announcement, the BRIT nominee has also revealed that she’ll be playing her first show in two years at London’s Cadogan Hall on October 17th.  Tickets for the event are on sale from Friday 5th August.

Rumer spoke about finally feeling ready to take the task of the album on:  “I couldn’t have made this album five years ago […]  I think I’ve now got a wide enough emotional palette to draw on for these songs’ characters and stories.  That kind of insight only comes as you get older.”

  1. Rumer has the ability to cover songs that we are all familiar with and turn them Into her own creations and when you hear them you end up preferring her versions ,that takes some magic.

  2. Christine….. I totally agree with you. This song was sung well by Karen but Rumer nails it. It is so hauntinly beautiful and Robs piano is amazing. It sends shivers down my spine
