Yesterday was apparently Blue Monday, which is daubed ‘the most depressing day of the year’ by some. Thank god then for purveyors of North Walian jangle pop SEAZOO.It’s not the first time we’ve succumbed to their charms, the wonderfully toe tapping sea sawing pop of Dog Hotel was a delight.

But this week, they deliver the kind of multi-coloured shot of serotonin to the brain, with their new single ‘Panda Pains’ to awaken you from the gloom. A rambunctious surrealist blast of power pop that mines the effervescent furrow between the gleeful psych-pop of early Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci and the rhythmic waves of guitar and knowing melodies of prime-time Pavement. It’s all laced together with a marvellous riff, dapply casio keyboards and frankly barking lyrics that wittily manage to link panda bears, vegetables and how are head are full of nonsense. Frankly brill.
