News: Michael Chapman – Ancient & Modern, Live from The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in York

Live music venue The Crescent and fellow local promoters Please Please You and Ouroboros have joined considerable forces to present a special online concert from the legendary English singer-songwriter and guitarist, Michael Chapman. The concert was recorded during lockdown at the historic medieval guildhall in the city of York, The Merchant Adventurers’ Hall and will be broadcast on Sunday 29th November 2020. The concert also features a support slot and interview with the East Yorkshire folk guitarist, Katie Spencer.

The recording, titled Ancient & Modern, represents a look back over Michael Chapman’s long and illustrious career and will feature many of his classic songs as well as some of his newer compositions. Chapman explains “I wanted to call it Ancient & Modern in reference to the hymn books of days gone by and because it reflects the songs I selected to play for this show.”

The streamed concert – which starts at 7.00pm GMT on Sunday 29th November 2020 – will be available online for ticket holders to watch as many times as they like for up to three days from the time of broadcast. It can be viewed on computers, mobile phones or through smart TVs and Chromecasts.

Further information about the event and tickets for it priced at £10 (including booking fee) can be found HERE
